Noah stood quietly on the edge of Hogsmede, it was late and dark and a bit cold but she didn't mind...much. Glancing at the ground in front of her she let out a small miserable sigh, she held a muggle cappuccino in her hand, it felt hot against her cold skin. There was a small store at the edge of Hogsmede, not far from where she stood, that sold muggle stuff all over the place. Not many people knew about it, and Noah had never mentioned it to anybody even though she had only been at Hogwarts for a few weeks. It was heaven to her and she didn't want people flooding it. She ran her fingers through her messy hair, her hair had been parted off to the side and pinned with a barrette over to one side. She took a sip of her hot drink, it burned her tongue but she didn't care. She shivered against the heat from her cup and thought about how horrible she probably looked. She wore more eyeliner than normal today and she probably looked like she'd just been crying. The wind did that to her, it made her eyes water and it made her feel insignificant but she liked it either way.
She took a step further into Hogsmede and continued on her way. She didn't know where she was going but Hogsmede was drawing her in. She wasn't ready to go to Hogwarts, hell, she never expected to have to go. The cobbled drive made her feet make that tapping noise, she wore a pair of plain black flats on her feet. She let out another small sigh, she was alone, like always. She hated how things had turned out for her life.
She was right in front of the swinging door to the Three Broomsticks when the door opened right in front of her face. A person bustled out and Noah jumped back to get out of the way. The book and the cup of cappuccino in her hand fell to the ground, and the drink spilled everywhere. A sigh escaped her lips again, she was sort of pissed now. The person continued to walk away without looking back as Noah picked up the pieces of the cup and threw them in the garbage next to the door before bending over to pick up her book. She straightened her posture and opened the door again. Her clothes felt tight on her skin, the fishnet leggings held rips and her black and white polka dotted skirt ruffled, it was extremely short. She wore a black tee that read, "Haters Make Me Famous," and arm warmers rested on her hands. She entered the building and took a look around. She shook her head, why was it so full today? Ridiculous.

Being back at Hogwarts for his last year was great, sure, but the highlight of his time here was always Hogsmeade. The little village pretty much had everything Hogwarts didn't supply him. One of his preferred places to go during outings with his friends was usually the Three Broomsticks, though. So, before the term had even started, he had decided on heading over there by himself, just to have some alone time before everything started up all over again.
The night was chilly, so Nate had dressed appropriately; in dark jeans and a dark hoodie. Nothing fancy, just simple. He glanced at the other shops as he walked, his hands casually stuffed into his pockets. He was usually loud and energetic, so this was a bit different for him. It was calming. As he neared his destination, he noticed someone near the entrance get suddenly knocked backward. She was obviously holding some sort of drink, because it crashed to the ground and was wasted. Seeing the one responsible for this just walk off like nothing had happened slightly irked him, but before he could go toward the girl and ask if she was okay, she had already made her way into the building.
Nathan finally reached the door and shoved it open slowly, as to not hit anyone on the other side himself. He slipped inside, the warm air a greeting him. Oddly enough, the place was quite crowded. That was a bit of a disappointment for him, actually. He instantly noticed the girl who had been nearly run over, still standing near the entrance. He took a couple steps toward her, instantly turning into his usual talkative self, "Hey, you're the one who nearly got sacked by that d-bag a couple seconds ago, right?" he asked with a raised brow, "You should have, like, growled at them or something. Or maybe you did, I just didn't hear. But they didn't seem very apologetic. You should have gone all ninja on 'em," he stated simply, his hands in his pockets once more.

Noah took her small fingers through her tangled blond hair. This just wasn't going to be a good day, and by the looks of it it wasn't going to get better. She gave a sigh knowing that tomorrow would be better as she was expecting a letter from a very important person. When a boy approached her she batted her eyes a few times. He was extremely cute. She did always have a thing for the blond boys with longer hair and bright eyes. He acted really nice toward her as well. A smile came across the French girls face. "Ninja?" She grinned. Noah knew what he meant, however, she had never had anyone actually use it in that term.
"I tend to ignore people like them. I don't like steering up more trouble." She paused with a raised eyebrow. As she spoke her accent slipped a little. He also seemed like he had his own accent that wasn't completely British. "Although starting trouble is rather amusing." Noah moved her lips into a smirk and tucked one side of her hair behind her ear. The barrette she had put there wasn't doing it's job. "Stupid cheap hair things." She thought almost with an eyeroll.
"I'm Noah, a transfer student." She added bluntly. She didn't want to attend Hogwarts or any other school but her own. She pushed the thoughts to the back of her head. She might as well try to make the best of it. No point in being a dramatic cry-baby. "Would you like to sit?" She asked him looking around the place. She spotted a table near the back that was empty although it had a mess on it. Pointing to the table she said, "If your answer is yes then we might need to hurry that way before someone else decided to take it." Pause. "Then you might need to pull some ninja moves out of them." Smirk.

Being from a completely muggle family, and coming from 'across the pond', he was used to people who didn't quite understand some of the things he said or the way he acted. If he told someone Taylor Swift looks like a cat, they would ask who this Taylor Swift was. Sometimes it was hard to live in a wizarding world where he could barely relate to anyone, but at least this girl seemed to know what a ninja was. He was sure the wizarding world had ninjas or something, right? His accent was also American, as well, and he didn't always understand some of the weird words people around here used. Being around here for so many years, and only leaving for the summer, made their accent grow on him just a bit.
Nate shrugged slightly at her response, "Yeah, guess that makes sense and all. Maybe karma will get him," he replied with a small chuckle, "Though it's good to see someone else finds trouble amusing," he added with a smirk of his own. He took note of her slight accent and appearance. The way she was dressed reminded him of some of the teens back home in his muggle community. They called themselves something, but he couldn't quite remember what it was. He always found his attention drawn to people who dressed as she did, with the arm warmers, legging, interestingly patterned and colored skirt and other clothing, etc., but he didn't quite understand why. Maybe it was because they were just visually loud to him. Still, she was quite attractive, he couldn't deny.
"Nice to meet you, then, Noah.." he began, "Oo, a transfer student? That's so.. foreign," he joked, "Lemme' guess... Beauxbatons?" he asked. She just seemed like the type that would have attended that school, and upon hearing what had happened, it seemed likely, "I'm Nate, by the way," he added shortly. At her question to sit, he followed her eyes toward an empty, though dirty, table, "Sure," he replied, glancing around the table to see if anyone was headed that way, "Attention! I have an announcement!" he yelled out to those in the room, instantly quieting the commotion. Since there were some random people standing around, they could easily claim the table if they wanted, "Dibs on that table right over there! If you touch it, I throw something at you!" he announced so everyone could hear him. That would get the job done. He turned to Noah with a smug expression, "I just ninja'd them verbally," he explained as he began to make his way toward the table, the chatting filling the room once more.

Noah watched as the room went quit after Nate had yelled. With a smirk she crossed her arms across her stomach and began walking to the dirty table. He was good at making himself heard or at least known anyway. She looked at the messed and it seemed like the owners only picked up the glasses and haven't come back for the trash. She shrugged and used her wand to move of it to a near by trashcan. "Filthy here." She muttered brushing crumbs of the seat she was going to take. "Yeah," She added taking her seat and looking at him. "You certainly showed them. Although, I have to admit, seeing a table fly would be funny." She chuckled imagining people falling over just to get out of the way. Now that would be hilarious.
"If I'm 'foreign', mister Nate, than so are you. I'm not sure where you're from but you don't have the British accent. I think it's kind of cute," Woah, cute? Where did that come from Noah? Leave it to know to be her own embarrassment. "But yes, I'm from Beauxbatons. Hogwarts is so....different and more 'loose' with the rules." Noah leaned back in her seat and thought about it. "Makes it easier for me to get away from trouble." She laughed. Noah loved causing mischief even if she rarely ever got to. For the most part, she is a quiet person who likes thinking to herself and listen to music. "What brings you to Hogsmeade?" She asked. Sure, Hogsmeade was nice and all , but Noah found the crowds annoying. She figured if Hogwarts students got to visit here every weekend they would get bored with it, but no, that didn't seem the case.

Nate took a seat across from her after she had cleaned off the table. He bent over so his eyes were level with the surface of the table as he looked over it, "Mm, yes, some little crumbs here and there," he commented, running a finger over the surface. He straightened up and looked at Noah once more, "Some filthy people live in this world. No wonder the oceans are so polluted," he added randomly, "Yeah, but I'd feel bad if I killed someone with my amazing strength," he responded jokingly.
"Well.. fine, I guess you have a point there," he told her with a shrug and a grin. He was slightly surprised at the 'cute' comment, but brushed it off, "Yes, us Americans with our American-y accents are just adorable," he added sarcastically, though still grinning, "I find yours much more appealing. It's not as boring as mine," he explained simply, "Well, I've never been anywhere else, so I wouldn't be able to compare," he responded, "But I am the master of trouble," he added cockily, his smirk reappearing, "Do you like it here, so far?" he asked.
"Well, I never really know," he continued, "Most of the time I come here with friends, but today I felt like.. I dunno, people watching, I guess," he explained, "This is a great place for it, too," he added, using that moment to glance around at the other people that were there, "That guy, right there," he gestured toward an old man seated at a table in a corner by himself, sipping a mug, "Totally feels guilty for cheating on his wife," he finished. It was completely random and most likely false, "You get to recognize these things after people watching for so long.. So, what brings you here?" he asked, directing the question toward Noah now.

Nate was a talker. He could definitely keep up a conversation and Noah doubted it ever went quite with him. She glanced over to the fellow he was talking about. What Nate was telling her made Noah want to punch the guy in the stomach. Cheating was a definite no-no with her! "People are watching you because you yelled at them." She grinned looking from him to the person who waited on people. She was really wanting a butterbeer although she was to lazy to get up and ask for one. "It's okay here. It's very different but I guess that's because I'm foreign The culture isn't so bad so I don't think I'll have a hard time adjusting. Why are you here though? Isn't there a magic school in America?" She told him trying to talk over the person behind her. Whoever the person was was being way to loud even for a crowed place. "Look dude." She started turning in her seat. "Shut up, your voice sounds like a lawn mower." Noah rolled her eyes and faced Nate once more. The guy probably didn't know what one of those were unless he had muggle in his family. She didn't care whether he knew what one was or not. She knew and she also found it pretty funny.
"Let's put those 'amazing strength' skills to the test." She challenged him with a smirk. "I challenge you to an arm wrestle." Noah put her elbow on the table with her hand open. She knew she would probably loose although it was at least something to do. "Unless of course you're scared and want to surrender."

Nate laughed shortly, running a hand through his hair as he did so. His hair used to be more blond, but now it seemed to be getting darker, which was strange, since it wasn't like he had dyed it or anything. His excuse was that it was getting burnt by the sun, "Well, I felt the need to come here after getting my letter. I did a bit of research and learned that it was one of the best wizarding schools, apparently. Dunno if that's changed or not, but whatever. I like it here, anyway," he continued, "After a while I began to get used to these people and their accents and different terms for things," his voice rose just a bit, with the voice of the man at the other table getting quite obnoxious.
About to say something, himself, Noah beat him to it. He was quite shocked when she mentioned a lawn mower. Did she actually know what a lawn mower was? He didn't know what he was more impressed with, her yelling at the guy, or her comparing his voice to a lawn mower, "Wait, do you know what a lawn mower is?" he asked when she turned back around to face him, excitement showing in his eyes. If this girl had muggle heritage or something like that, he felt like he would be able to relate to her much easier.
Nathan couldn't help but raise a brow at her and smirk slightly at her challenge, "An arm wrestle? Really? Is that necessary?" he asked. At her comment on being 'scared', Nate placed his elbow on the table and clasped his hand in hers, "Don't worry, I'll go easy on you," he told her jokingly, preparing himself. He wouldn't count down or anything, but give her the opportunity to have the first move.

If Nate adjusted so well to the place Noah figured she would to. The only different was that Nate speaks English as a first language and Noah doesn't. She was honestly getting annoyed with speaking a foreign language all the time, but at least she wasn't completely lost. Which comes to mind, if there is an American Magic school and he got accepted here then he must be pretty smart right? "Ohhh," She answered him. "I see. Well, possibly help me around ey? I still don't know my way, and to be honest the school is a maze." She had even found herself on the forbidden corridor then got caught. She almost had detention until she explained that she didn't know there was a corridor not allowed to students. She wanted to go back though and explore. Noah licked her light pink lips before continuing.
"I know a lot about the muggle world." She told him re adjusting her hand in his. The winner was a toss up, however, he looked stronger. "I was raised in a wizard house -hold but I have a high interest in muggle....well, everything. My parents don't like it but they, luckily, took me to muggle shops and bought me some thing. They also started buying a few muggle things for the house even, though I had to explain how to use them." She paused before continuing. "I've noticed us wizards are lazy. Muggles work for getting things done as we use are wands for ninety-seven percent of everything."
Noah shrugged lightly as she explained to him. To be honest, she didn't know how wizards kept their weight healthy. "Alright." She said preparing herself for the arm wrestle as if it were a serious thing, and without warning she said, "Go!" She pushed against his hand with little strength then tried using more strength.
